She is a songwriter, humanitarian, businesswoman, and country music icon. Sadly, she announced that she is done with touring however she will continue to make music. Her fans become heartbroken hearing this news as they love to see her on stage.

The singer chose only to create music and make time for her husband. For over 50 years Dolly Patron and Carl Thomas Dean is the time they have been married, however, fans don’t know anything more than that about Carl. In her book, she described him as a romantic man. Even she remembered an incident that happened when she visited him at the army base saying “He squeezed, hugged, and kissed me so hard that he knocked my wig off.”

Dolly and Carl met in Nashville, Tennessee outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat in 1964, she was just 18 years old.

When Carl met Dolly for the first time he said as Entertainment Tonight posted “My first thought was, ‘I’m gonna marry that girl,’”.

“My second thought was, ‘Lord she’s good-lookin’.’ And that was the day my life began. I wouldn’t trade the last 50 years for anything on this earth.”

Dolly was putting her first steps into the music industry when she and Carl got married. They tied the knot in Ringgold, Georgia with an intimate ceremony.

Since then their love is still strong as ever!

Now she is willing to give up touring and spend more time at home with her husband.

“I’ve done that my whole life, and it takes so much time and energy. I like to stay a little closer to home with my husband. We’re getting older now, and I don’t want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time. Something could happen. I would not feel right about that if I were gone and somebody needed me. Or I would feel bad if I had to leave a tour if somebody got sick at home and needed me and then I had to walk out on the fans.”

Dolly has an album on the way as well as a Christmas special for NBC for this year.

“It’s a show within a show. What we’re doing is focused on the dramatic side. It’s showing all the things that go on while you’re putting together a show. All the arguments you have with the producers, all the problems you have with the artists, all the problems you have with scenery falling down and all the things that go on backstage, people having to cancel and reschedule real quick … I wouldn’t consider me acting, because I’m just totally myself in this. I’m just Dolly all the way, I’m not playing a character.”

Also, there is a movie on the making called Run, Rose, Run starring her and Reese Witherspoon.

In the end, Dolly Patron’s fans are thankful to her and they respect every decision she makes with an open heart.
