The iconic John Fogerty performs a brilliant cover of “have you ever seen the rain”
This man is a living legend, not only as a soloist artist but also as a group member of “Creedence Clearwater Revival”. In this video, he got invited to Conan O’Brien’s show while he was about to sing his heart out for us.
The show’s host said: “This wasn’t really planned, but there’s a chance that you might sing a little something for us before we go.” As soon as he finished saying that he was cut off by the roar of the crowd. John didn’t help but agreed and he was handed Andy Richter’s guitar by Conan.
Conan added:” I have no idea what’s going to happen.’ John quips, ‘You and me both!’ Then, John jokes that he’s going to play ‘Louie, Louie.’ Conan says, ‘Everyone plays Louie, Louie. I want to hear one of your tunes.’
Forgety begins with the classical guitar opening to “Have You Ever Seen the Rain.” That’s when the crowd went crazy while Conan is showing old videos and photos of John and his band. he told the audience to sing along with him after he finished the first verse.
Without a doubt, the crowd started to sing the part saying “I want to know”. John couldn’t help himself and told the audience they were amazing and beautiful. they gave him a big round of applause and loud shouting.
From 1968 to 1972, his band “Creedence Clearwater Revival” had 9 top-10 singles and 8 gold albums. And his group was enlisted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. After that, he started his solo journey and gained more popularity and success that he ended up at number 40 on “Rolling Stone” magazine’s list of 100 greatest songwriters.
